Mridul George
Mridul George is an emerging Malayalam writer and screenwriter from Muvattupuzha, whose journey into cinema stands as an inspiring example of passion, consistency, and dedication. Although he spent more than a decade working in the IT sector, his love for writing — rooted deeply in his school days — eventually shaped his identity as a storyteller in Malayalam cinema.
Hails from Muvattupuzha, Kerala, Holds an Engineering Degree. Developed an interest in writing during school days, participating in creative writing activities and story-telling events Began writing short stories in early college days.During college, Mridul Wrote short stories regularly, Worked part-time as an anchor in Malayalam channels, was later encouraged to write for the very shows he was anchoring, which gave him a strong push toward professional writing. These experiences helped him stay connected to media even while completing his degree and choosing an IT career later.
Mridul Worked in the IT sector for more than 10 years, despite a successful career, he continued writing spent most of his free time exploring stories, character development, and screenplay writing. Mridul’s breakthrough happened unexpectedly through the film “Luca”.
Director Arun Bose, who was his school senior, discovered Mridul’s short stories on Orkut, Deeply impressed by the writing, Arun contacted him. They connected online, became close through discussions on storytelling, and decided to collaborate, After Arun returned from abroad, the duo met frequently, during a walk along a Chennai beach, an idea struck to Arun and Arun shared the idea to Mridul and Mridul shared his thoughts— which later evolved into the movie Luca. Luca (2019) became a successful romantic thriller, giving Mridul major recognition as a screenwriter.
Following the success of Luca, the acclaimed writer-director duo teamed up again for: Mindiyum Paranjum – Starring Unni Mukundan & Aparna Balamurali, A beautiful love story, Soon to be released. The project has already caught the attention of the Malayalam film audience and critics who admire the unique sensitivity in Mridul’s writing.
