Aadit Maran – VFX Supervisor / Editor
Aadit, a VFX Supervisor, was born in Karaikudi and pursued his schooling in Bangalore until the 6th grade, after which he moved to Chennai. He continued his education there, completing his college studies in the same city. After completing 12th grade, Aadit utilized his free time to work on short films with his friends. During that period, the popular show Naalaiya Iyakunar was running, which inspired him to create his own short films.
He pursued his Engineering degree at SRM University. However, his passion for VFX never faded. While searching for opportunities abroad, he discovered a one-year VFX course in Canada. Determined to enhance his skills, he worked hard, applied for a scholarship, and successfully moved to Canada for further studies.
After completing the course, Aadit returned to Chennai in 2018 and joined Prasad Studio as a VFX faculty member for four months. Later, he got an opportunity to work at Double Negative, a prestigious international studio specializing in Hollywood movies. He worked there for two and a half years, contributing to major projects like Wonder Woman, Fast & Furious, Avengers, Robot 2.0, and several web series.
Having gained substantial experience, he wanted to explore something new and challenging. He noticed an opening in an advertising agency and applied. The agency was impressed with his work and hired him. There, he handled both VFX and editing for various ad projects. Eventually, the same agency expanded into film production, allowing him to take charge of movie editing and VFX as well.
As he gained recognition, he started receiving freelance projects from external clients. This motivated him to quit his job and become a full-time freelancer. He Worked on numerous music videos and album songs, including “Uchi Malai Kaathavaraayanˮ featuring MaKaPa and “Ammaadiˮ with Sandy Master.
His career took a significant turn when he received a call from Vijay Antony through a friend’s recommendation. His first work for Vijay Antony was for Pichaikaran 2. After Pichaikaran 2, Aadit worked on the film Romeo. He spoke highly of Vijay Antony and stated that he understood every aspect of filmmaking. His expertise in VFX editing made him a crucial part of the industry.
He then worked on the Hitler movie and is currently engaged in multiple projects, including (Maargan, Sakthi Thirumagan Arun Prabhuʼs film), and Mr. Bharat (Lokesh Kanagarajʼs movie as a producer). He highlighted that VFX is a time-intensive process, often taking three to four days for a single shot. However, over time, he adapted to the workflow and became efficient.
Aadit also mentioned his strong bond with Vijay Antony, emphasizing that once Vijay Antony finds a comfortable and skilled collaborator, he prefers to work with them repeatedly, building a long-term professional relationship. Aadit got married to his long time friend who he met at school, Padmaja Sreenivasan, playback singer who is currently working with a number of renowned musicians in the South Film Industry.
Aadit and Padmaja believe that their love story was destined, as everything fell into place naturally. They continue to share a deep bond and cherish their journey together.
