MRK Jhayaram: A Producer Driven by Content and Conviction
Born in the culturally rich town of Thalassery, Kerala and now settled in Chennai, MRK Jhayaram represents a new generation of film producers who are guided not by formula but by faith in content. His journey into cinema is rooted in curiosity, observation and a deep love for meaningful storytelling rather than commercial shortcuts.
MRK Jhayaram completed his degree at Jain College, where his interest in films slowly expanded beyond just watching movies to understanding how they are made. What fascinated him most was the production side of cinema the process of nurturing an idea, backing a vision and bringing a story to life on screen. This growing interest eventually pushed him to explore cinema not merely as an audience member, but as a creator and producer.
During 2017–2018, this passion took a concrete form when he established his own production banner, Aaradyaa Studios. The banner was envisioned as a platform to support distinctive stories and fresh perspectives, especially films that challenge audiences intellectually and emotionally. Aaradyaa Studios stands for quality, originality and cinema that sparks conversation values that strongly align with MRK Jhayaram’s personal taste in films.
His debut production Eko is a clear reflection of this philosophy. What drew him to Eko was the fact that it belonged to a different genre, standing apart from routine narratives. When the story was narrated by director Dinjith Ayyathan, MRK Jhayaram immediately connected with the concept. He understood the core idea deeply and believed in the director’s vision. The narration convinced him that Eko was not just a film but an experience that would provoke thought and invite interpretation.
Speaking about his involvement in the project, MRK Jhayaram has often emphasized how important clarity of concept is to him as a producer. In Eko, he saw a story that trusted its audience one that didn’t spoon-feed answers, but instead encouraged viewers to think, question, and discuss. This belief became the foundation on which the film was produced.
The response to Eko exceeded expectations. According to MRK Jhayaram, Bahul Ramesh’s writing was marvellous, adding depth and layers to the narrative. The audience response was overwhelmingly positive with viewers actively engaging with the film even after leaving the theatre. While audiences today consume a large volume of content, Eko managed to stand out by making people pause, reflect and revisit the film in their minds.
One of the most interesting outcomes of Eko was how audiences began creating multiple theories around the story. Discussions, interpretations and debates flourished, turning the film into a celebratory experience rather than a one-time watch. For MRK Jhayaram, this kind of response is the true success of cinema when a film lives beyond the screen and becomes part of public conversation.
Apart from being a film producer, MRK Jhayaram is also an entrepreneur. He is involved in the dairies manufacturing business, owning a company named Aaradyaa Cold dairies, Also Doing a Gold Trading business named Aaradya Gold, balancing his creative pursuits with his business ventures. This dual role reflects his practical mind set of someone who understands both the artistic and commercial worlds and knows how to navigate between them without compromising on values.
A passionate film enthusiast, MRK Jhayaram watches a wide variety of films and deeply appreciates strong content. His exposure to diverse cinema has shaped his sensibility as a producer, enabling him to recognize stories that are honest, layered, and impactful.
When asked about his future plans, MRK Jhayaram expresses a clear intention: he is planning to make another good film. Rather than rushing into projects, he is focused on choosing the right story one that resonates with him as strongly as Eko did. His approach suggests a long-term vision, where quality takes precedence over quantity.
With Eko, MRK Jhayaram has made a confident entry into the film industry as a producer who values storytelling, audience intelligence, and cinematic integrity. As Aaradyaa Creations moves forward, his journey promises more films that dare to be different and meaningful films that don’t just entertain, but stay with the audience long after the final frame.
